    Why Choose Us

Why Choose Us When There Are Cheaper Options Out There

Any crew with a truck and a post digger can call themselves a fence company. The difference shows up when something goes wrong. You are not just paying for a fence. You are paying for accountability after the job is done.

    Fully Licensed and Insured

Your property is protected from day one. Unlicensed contractors are cheaper upfront and a much bigger risk if there is an accident or a dispute.

    Warranty on Every Job

We back every fence we build. If something fails on our end, we come back and fix it. Most contractors in this area offer no such guarantee.

    Local Crew, Not a Franchise

Based at 3021 Fairacres Rd SW, Huntsville. We know these neighborhoods, the soil, and what Alabama weather does to a fence.

    Written Quotes, No Surprises

Clear pricing before work starts. No hidden fees, no bait-and-switch after you sign. What we quote is what you pay.

    About Wood Fencing

Why a Wood Fence Still Beats Every Alternative

Wood is the oldest fencing material in the book, and it still wins. Natural, versatile, and good-looking from day one. A wood fence is built from natural boards, posts, and rails using materials like cedar, pine, or spruce.

It takes paint, holds stain, fits any yard, and adds real value to your property. No synthetic material comes close to the warmth wood brings to a home. If you want something that looks right and lasts, this is where you start.

    Material Guide

Pressure Treated Pine or Western Red Cedar, Which One Is Right for You

Both are solid choices. The right pick depends on your budget and how much maintenance you want to take on later.  Tight budget, go pine. Long-term investment, go cedar. We will help you decide on-site.

    Budget Friendly

    Pressure Treated Pine

Chemically treated to resist rot and moisture, making it a reliable workhorse for most residential fences. Expect to stain or seal it every few years to keep it in good shape. The smarter pick when budget is the priority.

Best for: Tight budgets, standard privacy fencing, shorter-term builds

    Recommended

    Western Red Cedar

Costs more upfront but earns it back over time. Resists rot and insects naturally without chemical treatment. Holds stain beautifully, stays stable in Alabama heat, and tends to outlast pine with far less effort.

Best for: Long-term investment, premium appearance, Alabama climate

    Fence Styles

Wood Fence Styles That Match Every Home and Every Goal

The style you choose changes the look, the privacy level, and the price. Here is what each one does.

Not sure which fits your property? We walk you through the options on-site before a single post goes in the ground.

    Huntsville Fence Company

    Board-on-Board

Full privacy, clean overlapping finish, no gaps. The most popular backyard choice in Huntsville for good reason.
    Vinyl Fence

    Shadowbox

    aluminum residential fencing

    Picket

Open and classic. Built for front yard curb appeal, not privacy. Usually 3 to 4 feet tall.
    chain link fence

    Split Rail

Two or three horizontal rails, no boards. Marks large lots without the visual weight of a full fence.
    Fence Refinishing Staining Painting

    Lattice Top

Standard privacy fence with a decorative lattice section across the top. Adds height and character.
    Cantilever Chain Link Gate Huntsville

    Dog Ear

Simple diagonal cut at the top of each board. Clean, affordable, and widely used across Huntsville neighborhoods.

    Privacy Fencing

Privacy Wood Fence That Stops the Stares

A six-foot wood privacy fence changes how you use your outdoor space. No more eyes from the street. No more neighbors with a clear view of your patio. Just your yard, your family, and some actual breathing room.

Board-on-board, shadowbox, and dog ear are the top choices when a solid barrier is the goal. Each one blocks sightlines completely while still looking good from the outside.

If you have kids, pets, or a pool, a privacy wood fence is not a luxury. It is the right call.

    Custom Builds

Custom Wood Fence That Works With Your Land, Not Against It

Slopes, odd corners, large trees, unusual lot boundaries. Most fencing companies fight against these. We build around them.

A custom wood fence means every panel height, measurement, and design detail fits your specific property.

    Pricing

Cost of Wood Fence Installation in Huntsville, AL

$15 – $35 Per linear foot, fully installed
Huntsville, AL area • Materials and labor included

Wood fencing in Huntsville typically runs between $15 and $35 per linear foot, fully installed. A few things move that number up or down.

    • Fence Height

Taller fences need more material and deeper post holes. More height, higher cost.

    • Linear Footage

The size of your yard is the single biggest cost driver on any fence project.

    • Wood Species

Cedar costs more than pine but lasts longer and resists rot without treatment.

    • Style and Gates

Custom styles and gate additions each affect the final price of the project.

The only way to get a number that means anything is to have someone walk your yard. We do that for free, and you'll have a written quote before we leave.

If anyone is in need of fence work, these guys were incredibly responsive. I contacted them one evening, had a reviewer out next day, final quote a day later, and installing day after. Price was just a few hundred over a non-US person ($5,500 instead of $5,200), and they are all American (gave me a W9 for their Scorp) and talented. They even made a few recommendations, all of which I gladly accepted. They know their craft.

Huntsville Residential Fencing installed a vinyl fence for us. Their quality of work is outstanding. They installed the fence in a couple of days, we thought it would take much longer. We asked about warranties on the work and they provided extensive information regarding material and workmanship warranties. They’re the gold standard for your fencing needs.

    FAQ

    Wood Fence Questions, Answered Straight

Is a wood fence cheaper than chain link?

On material cost alone, chain link has a slight edge. Once installation is included, the gap is smaller than most people expect. The bigger difference is what you get. Chain link offers no privacy and adds no visual appeal. Wood does both.

Is a wood fence cheaper than vinyl?

Yes. Wood costs 20 to 40 percent less upfront than comparable vinyl fencing. Vinyl requires less maintenance long-term, but if budget is the priority right now, wood is the smarter starting point.

How long does a wood fence last?

A properly installed and maintained wood fence lasts 15 to 20 years. Cedar holds up longer than pine. Sealing or staining every few years adds significant life to any wood fence.

What wood is best for a fence in Alabama?

Cedar is the top choice. It resists rot and insects naturally without chemical treatment. Pressure-treated pine is a strong second option at a lower price point. Both hold up well in Alabama heat and humidity.

Do I need a permit for a wood fence in Huntsville?

In many cases, yes. Permit requirements depend on fence height and your specific location. We handle the permit process for you so you do not have to figure it out alone.

Can a wood fence be repaired instead of replaced?

Most of the time, yes. Individual boards, posts, and rails can be swapped out without touching the rest of the fence. A full replacement is only necessary when structural damage is too widespread for spot fixes.
